I wanted to add another DC plug to my car so that more passengers would have access to accessories. I looked for a long time for the correct DC plug, and finally went with this one because many of the other options were made out of plastic and I was concerned that if they broke I didn't want to have to tear apart my car to replace it. I am actually very happy with the results, it looks like it is factory installed.
